The Irving Open 2025 is a group show of 37 contemporary artists based within the UK and Ireland, who were shortlisted from over 370 submissions to an Open Call in late 2024. The co-judges of the Open Call were artists Kate Shooter and Henry Ward, along with Irving Gallery’s curator Vanessa Lacey. Kate Shooter is a painter based in south Wales and she is one of Irving’s Gallery Artists, having exhibited regularly with the gallery since its inaugural exhibition in November 2019. Henry Ward is a painter, writer and educator, living and working in London, who showed his paintings at Irving Gallery in a three-person show Shapeshifters in the spring of 2023; he is also Director of the Freelands Foundation.

The works selected for this diverse and exciting exhibition include painting, sculpture, ceramic, and works on paper, together showcasing the best in contemporary art from emerging and established artists in the UK and Ireland.

At the preview on Saturday 1st March, Jo Berry was announced as the prize winner selected from the shortlisted artists and she will have a solo show at Irving Gallery in 2026.
